Kids & Teen Piercings

Your piercing is (each) $70 including basic jewelry, or, $40 + the cost of your jewelry choice. We might not always have the size and style you need for your piercing available at the time of your appointment. We cannot use jewelry you bring into the studio, since we need to keep manufacturing paperwork, mill certificates and verification of materials and quality on file for HHS and our Insurance. In addition, we want to make sure the sizing and every little detail of your experience is correct.

HEY PARENTS ! I know you don't have a lot of extra time while being a busy parent, but it's super important I promise! Before booking please read this entirely...

Please don't book a checkup/cleaning under this service. Our service fee is for each piercing, as every piercing is another service being provided.

I need your help ensuring your child is fully prepared and confident in their decision! Piercing Preparedness starts at home, ask our team how you can help prepare your child before arriving so we can work together in making sure they have the best experience possible.

Please don't book this appointment if your child was recently sick or had surgery. We require you wait at least a month after being sick, and at least 3 months after surgery.

We allot 1 hour for each Childs visit, this includes time for shopping, piercing, and explaining aftercare. If you need longer than the hour provided, we charge an additional $40 per half hour. We feel this is the best way to ensure parents are preparing their child prior to booking, and to discourage clients from going over their allotted time, which affects our other appointments in that day.

Upgraded jewelry is additional, and based on the clients selection. You will not pay for Our standard jewelry when you add it to a fresh piercing service, and is subject to availability in store... Please read "How to prepare for your appointment" at the top of our website before booking and in your email after booking, our child policies, age requirements and required documentations.

We have put in a lot of effort to stay up to date with our education, including educating ourselves on the importance of quality metals and safe jewelry styles for fresh or healed piercings. Each of the designers we use can provide Mil Certificates as well as full transparency regarding where the jewelry is made, what it is made out of, how it is made, and the conditions of the facilities it is being made in. For these reasons, and to limit the chance of you having any complications, we will not use jewelry from outside the studio. It is not safe, and our insurance does not allow us to take the liability. We want the best possible outcome for your piercing, and for your health, this means that every single aspect of the piercing process needs to be done with extreme intention and care. We don't want your choice of jewelry to ruin all the hard work you and your piercer have put into your journey.

Sometimes we have to be the bad guy. As a parent, we know you understand this. Booking this service does not guarantee your child will get pierced. Prior to doing the piercing we might have to make the tough decision that your child is not ready because we feel they won't allow us to safely complete both piercings. In this event you will be charged a $40 fee for our time and supplies. This is because we have outlined everything we possibly can to prepare you and the child prior to booking the appointment.

If our team determines the child is not a good candidate yet, we will only charge a $40 fee for our time and materials.

We understand that you think your child is ready, that maybe they have been asking for this, that they see earrings and they want some for themselves. But please understand that sometimes us as parents are more ready than the child actually is, and wanting earrings is not the same as wanting a piercing. And being ready for earrings is not the same as understanding the possible pain and emotional stress that can come with getting a piercing, for children specifically. Even the most mature and tough children sometimes get in their head or decide it's too overwhelming. As professionals with more than 14 years of experience, we recommend that you spend at least 6 months to 1 year preparing your child for the responsibility and possible pain that comes with getting a piercing. It is helpful if your child has received any shots, has had blood taken, or has any experience with needles. We understand that more and more families are not vaccinating their children and we're completely comfortable with that! (and understand). We just ask that you start making your child comfortable with being around needles and medical-like environments. We will usually do a little demonstration for the child to make them more comfortable, so it helps that your child has already heard and is comfortable with mentioning "needles" "pokes" "shots" "picos" etc.

It is also helpful if you practice breathing techniques with your child, especially when they are under distress. Breathing on cue, following directions when stressed or in pain is one of the most important things to learn prior to getting a piercing. Breathing in, filling your tummy with air, holding it for 1,2, and exhaling out like you're blowing out all the candles in one breath. This is exactly how we will tell the child to breathe before, during and after the piercing procedure. Simply put, perfecting this technique makes their experience and our jobs so much easier and enjoyable!

Taking a 1-2 minute break between ears is perfectly normal, but if we need to take 5 minutes or longer to encourage, or rather, persuade the child, then they aren't ready to have their ears pierced. As the parent, this is something we are heavily relying on you to prepare the child for before their visit. It is important to explain that once we do one, we have to get through the next ear. Unless you don't mind your child leaving with one ear and returning another day, we are okay with that as well, but you will be charged full price for both visits (minimum of $80 each visit).

If I can speak honestly for a moment; Over the years we have had to become increasingly firm with our policies and prices, we hope you can understand that as experts in our field, we have a very good intuition pertaining to the job, including if a parent has prepared well or if a child is actually ready. We maintain the right to refuse service if we sense you have not prepared the child, if you are pressuring us to disregard your child's comfort or consent, if we get the sense you will not follow our aftercare, or if you are unkind to us. We need you to choose your piercer based on their knowledge and expertise, and because you want the best for your child. Unfortunately, sometimes clients and parents of clients choose us for other reasons and then expect us to do what they say and have no regard for us as professionals. We do offer a service, but that does not give someone the right to treat us like servants. I sincerely appreciate you understanding this- and for giving me the opportunity to "stick up for myself" before being put in a situation where my self-respect and value as a person is called into question.

A parent is required to provide proof that they are the child's parent, this can be proven using the birth certificate, we do accept photo copies to make things easier for you.

Being honest with your child ahead of time, or preparing them for months, about any pain involved, explaining how the needle works but also reminding them of how strong and brave they are, really helps your piercer do their job smoothly! We now require a consultation the day before the piercing appointment. We do this so we can make sure your child is comfortable with their surroundings and so the day of the piercing they're feeling more confident about the piercing.

In addition, we want to make sure the sizing and every little detail of your experience is correct.

Policies regarding ID's and birth certificates are covered in detail at the bottom of this page...
