As we age, we lose collagen, which our lips are mostly made up of, causing the border and the center of the lips to disappear, aging one’s face. Dr. Samara performs lip augmentation at his medical spa facility. The procedure takes about fifteen minutes to complete. For temporary augmentation, the filler primarily used is Juvederm® or Restylane®. It is injected into the lips with a needle, providing immediate results lasting six and twelve months.

Botox—often associated with cosmetic wrinkle reduction—is also a particularly effective treatment for focal hyperhidrosis. Botox injections use botulinum toxin to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. Retreatment is typically needed in four to six months, as the nerves regenerate. Over time, however, patients can go longer between treatments.

Elective (non urgent ) - **Dissolving Filler Process**:

- The dissolving filler process involves injecting **hyaluronidase** We use Hylenex product (By Halozyme Therapeutics ,Inc.)

By injecting the treated areas where hyaluronic acid-based fillers were previously injected. This enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid, allowing the filler to gradually dissolve.

- After the injection, a gentle massage may be performed to aid in the process.

- **Aftercare instructions** include avoiding extreme heat or cold, refraining from strenuous exercise, and using ice packs or pain medication for any discomfort.

- **Why Dissolve Fillers?**:

- Dissolving fillers has gained traction due to trends of overfilling influenced by celebrities and social media.

- Overfilling can lead to unnatural looks and medical complications such as filler migration and lump formation.

- Some patients choose to dissolve fillers due to dissatisfaction with cosmetic results or medical emergencies like vascular occlusion.

- **Reversibility**:

- **Hyaluronic acid-based fillers** gradually degrade over time (lasting from six months to two years).

- Non-hyaluronic acid fillers are not always reversible.

- Permanent fillers (e.g., Gore-Tex, silicone) can be reduced over time but are not fully reversible.

Remember to consult a trained healthcare professional for safe and effective filler dissolving procedures! 😊.
