About accepting donations with payment links
With Square Payment Links, you can contact your most loyal customers to accept donations and help you meet your organisation’s financial goals.
Before you begin
You can set up donation payment links from Square Dashboard.
There are no monthly fees to use payment links – just an online payment processing fee whenever you collect a donation. Understand Square’s payment fees for more details.
When you create a donation payment link, you can add a donation goal and a deadline or timeframe for that goal to drive urgency (for example, in order to have the donation matched).
Donation payment links allow anyone to send donations for any cause of up to €4,000.
Create a donation link
Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Payments & orders (or Payments & invoices or Payments) > Payment links > Payment links.
Click Create link.
Choose Accept a donation and click Continue.
Enter a Title for your donation link that will be displayed to the donor, a Frequency (either a one-time or recurring donation) and an optional Description.
Add an optional image by selecting Upload image.
Optionally toggle on Set donation goal and enter the goal amount and deadline.
Optionally toggle on Custom fields and add up to two custom fields to collect additional information from donors.
Optionally toggle on Redirect to a website after checkout and enter a website URL.
Click Save to start sharing your link.
Any prior donations made towards your donation goal will be automatically visible to new donors on your donation link. After donating, donors can share their link via Facebook and X so you can maximise your reach. You can add donation goals and deadlines to existing links at any time.
